Large Indian tribal dowry hardwood chest, possibly Cedar wood. Heavily "chip" carving to the front in a traditional pattern. A dowry chest is traditionally used by a young un-married woman to save and store clothing, bedding and linen etc in anticipation of married life!

Victorian / late Geaorgian period wine cooler (also makes a good planter!). Featuring cabriole legs with pad feet, later added stud work to the top and bottom of the container, brass binding and lion mask carry handles. Internally there is a galvanised tin liner.
